Do you want to create Interactive Educational Materials at Charles University?
Dear authors,
Dear authors,
we would like to introduce you to the advantages offered by the interactive educational media FutureBooks, which you can convey to your students in the form of scripts and full-fledged publications or to colleagues through monographs fulfilling the principles of Digital humanities.
Interactive learning media are a new and innovative way to share your knowledge and experience, as they allow users, through their interactive (activating) form, to participate more easily in the educational process or verify newly acquired knowledge in real time.
Benefits for students
As authors of interactive learning media, you can offer your students many benefits, including:
- High degree of interactivity: Students are actively involved in the educational process and can immediately verify the results of their activities.
- Flexibility: Interactive learning media allow students to learn at their own pace, at any time or place.
- Attractiveness: Interactive elements, such as simulations or self-evaluation tools, can help students to increase their motivation, as they emphasize the immediate participation (activity) of the user in the learning process, in his engaged involvement to teaching activities, to learning activities, to thinking and to solving problems.
- Personalization: Interactive learning media allow students to choose their own learning path and get exactly what they need. They can also customize the interface to their preferences.
Interactive learning media is also useful for you authors. For example, they help you see how your students respond to your materials, allowing you to adjust your approach and materials for better results.
Benefits for authors
Benefits for authors include the following areas:
- Comprehensible creation: Thanks to many ready-made elements and built-in functions, IVM is created quickly, clearly and with a minimum of obstacles.
- Full-fledged electronic publication: Just like a printed book, you can assign a unique ISBN or other identifiers (DOI, etc.) to IVM and publish fully without the lengthy processes required to create a printed book.
- Support for students with SEN: Using the editor, you can create learning media in the context of taking into account specific learning goals, contexts, pedagogical approaches targeting the needs of a specific group of students with specific educational needs
Advantages of IVM
The outputs of the FutureBooks system meet the "quality criteria of digital educational resources supported by public budgets", which the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports has defined as mandatory criteria for the outputs of European or national grants! Basically, it is about security four areas:
- Interoperability (i.e. multi-platform SW that makes IVM available on most available platforms – Android, iOS, Windows, macOS);
- Openness (Open Educational Resources - OER);
- Availability (online and offline);
- User friendliness (intuitive and easy to use, offering standard user tools).
You can also offer the created media to your clients (undergraduate studies, CŽV, U3V, etc.) for a fee.
We believe that writing interactive learning media is a great way to support your students in their learning and help them achieve their goals. We look forward to working together and thank you for the time and effort you put into creating these books.
